The environmental performance of a facing brick
To understand the full sustainability impact of a given product, you need to be asking suppliers for Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). We have recently updated our facing brick EPD, so it now includes cradle to grave data, covering A1-D.
Injecting carbon into concrete bricks
Marshalls is proud to announce that it is the first precast concrete manufacturer in the UK to adopt CarbonCure technology. This innovative technology allows for the sequestration of carbon, locking in waste CO2 during the manufacturing process, without affecting the performance or appearance of the facing-brick.
This groundbreaking technology is currently being used to manufacture facing bricks at our plant in Grove, South Wales, where around 50 million bricks are produced each year, resulting in the removal of approximately 30 tonnes of CO2 annually.
