We’re proud to have partnered with the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM) in their digital series, #TheRippleEffect, to demonstrate the work we are doing with our customers to support the integration of nature and green spaces through innovative water management solutions.
The video below features in CIWEM’s campaign. In it, we showcase our EDENKERB ®, an upcoming product designed to provide an innovative nature-based solution to water management.
Within the video, I talk about the concept of 'Green' and 'Grey' spaces, and the efforts we’re making at Marshalls to integrate these two environments by incorporating solutions that mimic nature, in the design and engineering of projects. This approach aims to create a better future environment for people and the planet.
Within the video you’ll also see a demonstration of the use of EDENKERB® in its first installation in West Yorkshire, and hear from the local landscape architect and council project manager about the impact this will have.
We finish our story with an optimistic vision of the future, in which Marshalls is helping to combine Green and Grey spaces and bring innovation to water management products with sustainability and climate change in mind.
At Marshalls, our mission is to create better places to live. EDENKERB® allows nature-based solutions back into heavily paved areas.
“Natural grounding acts like a sponge in green spaces, allowing water to infiltrate. Nature knows what it is doing; however, since the Industrial Revolution, we have paved over natural areas which would have previously absorbed water. Through innovative water management solutions, we are trying to allow those natural features to come back into those paved spaces and allow nature to do what it does best.”
