The £180m redevelopment of Watford's Intu shopping centre transformed the mall into one of the UK's largest in-town shopping centres.

Marshalls worked directly with the contractor, Laing O'Rourke, to place the order for the natural stone paving and hand it over to Vetters when they were appointed as subcontractors.

For the internal space photographed, a blend of cool-toned granites was selected to form a mix ranging in colour from silver grey through to mid-grey to black. Varying sizes were also used in the laying pattern to create an exciting band running through the larger flags.

The same granite mix has also been employed on the external approach to form a cohesive flow from the outside space into the shopping centre.
