Water Management from Marshalls

With a history of offering sustainable water management drainage systems designed to stand the test of time, Marshalls' water management solutions are an intrinsic component of major civil and infrastructure projects throughout the mainland UK.

Our water management experts can help you design a system suitable for the landscape that’s compliant with building standards and regulations to ensure seamless integration with existing drainage provisions.

Combining channel drainage that removes and conveys surface water with our foul and surface water below-ground drainage allows us to offer the complete water management journey, from the trench to the complete structure.

What are the different types of Marshalls' water management systems?

  • Combined kerb and drainage systems: Our integrated water management systems function as kerbs and improve access to below-ground drainage to reduce standing water and the risk of flooding

  • Below-ground drainage: Available in various forms, including chamber rings, soakaways, catch pits and concrete pipes, and designed to protect the landscape from erosion, foundation damage and waterlogging

  • Retaining walls: BBA-approved precast concrete systems known as Redi-Rock range, made from durable wet-cast concrete and manufactured for easy installation

  • Linear drainage systems: Cost-effective and easy to install, our linear drainage solutions include our Birco Channel Drain and Drexus Slot Drainage products. These versatile systems are designed to complement the landscape and ensure robust water management

  • Offsite solutions: These products include precast chambers, hydro-brakes with stormwater and floodwater controls and bespoke cover slabs, all engineered and manufactured offsite under factory conditions to ensure optimal performance and durability

  • Specialist precast water management solutions: Work with our team of experts to design and manufacture bespoke precast concrete modular tanks suitable for various applications and capable of managing stormwater, wastewater, clean water, sewage and sludge

Why choose Marshalls' Water Management products?

For over 100 years, Marshalls has been producing and manufacturing high-quality building materials for various applications and projects. We carry this experience and expertise through to the present day, continually innovating and redefining our products to guarantee their suitability and durability for modern demands.

Regardless of the size of the project, it's imperative that water management provisions are optimised to prevent the risk of flooding and other problems. Our water management experts can help you design systems and maximise efficiency.

For increased peace of mind that Marshalls is the right choice for your next project, we've received numerous credentials and accreditations acknowledging our sustainability efforts. These include BSI ISO 9001, and BES 6001, as well as certification from The Forest Stewardship Council.

Why does your project need effective water management solutions?

There are several reasons you need to ensure your building project has effective water management solutions, including:

  1. Flood risk management: Climate change and building on flood plains have increased the risk of flooding in many areas, so it's crucial that adequate measures, like sustainable drainage systems (SuDS), are implemented for standing water.

  2. Environmental protection: Untreated wastewater and sewage can have an adverse effect on local water bodies, harming ecosystems and wildlife.

  3. Compliance: Your project must adhere to relevant building rules and regulations. When you choose Marshalls' products, you're choosing peace of mind because our water infrastructure and solutions are made to exacting standards, meeting and even exceeding British and European standards.

  4. Sustainability: To receive various sustainability certifications, you must have rigorous water management strategies and plans. To assist you in meeting these goals, we use renewable energy and recycled materials and meet our own standards.

  5. Cost reductions: Water systems must be built to withstand the test of time and reduce the risk of flooding and contamination for decades, not years. This reduces costs and ensures sustainable development. To achieve this, our precast concrete pipes are manufactured to Class 4 (DC4) sulphate resistance, giving them a design life of 120 years.

  6. To keep up with water demand: Regardless of the work, whether it's a commercial, residential or large infrastructure project, it's crucial that the water supply remains unaffected and consistent.
