Product sustainability through our operations
We work hard to ensure that our manufacturing processes are as sustainable as possible, and we’re always making improvements in this.
- Based on tonnage, 96.9% of our landscaping, building and roofing products are made in Britain, meaning our products travel fewer miles to get to their new home
- Across our sites 74% of the electricity we consume as a group comes from renewable sources
- All product samples that are tested at our laboratory in Yorkshire are recycled within the grounds and used as recycled material at our local sites
- At our Marley sites, 100% of our wet clay is re-used in the production process, 100% of our timber waste material is recycled off-site and 100% of our concrete paint washings are recycled
- We're constantly testing new sustainable product mixes including reduced cement in concrete, and in 2022 we became the first pre-cast concrete manufacturer in the UK to lock waste carbon into our facing bricks in Grove
- We're minimising the amount of non-essential plastic packaging on our products.
