What is sand and cement screed?

Sand and cement screed is made by mixing cement with sharp sand and a small amount of water. The screed material creates a smooth surface before a final layer of flooring is applied.

Typically, the sharp sand and cement are mixed in a ratio of 1:3 or 1:4.5 to ensure a consistent mix that's easy to apply and level.

Premier Screed

This floor screed is made to exacting standards and is fast drying, making it perfect for time-critical projects. Certified to BS EN 13813 and CE marked, our Premier Screed is made with polypropylene fibres to guarantee a strong, durable layer.

Retanol Screed

The only TUV-certified screed additive recognised under EU standards as having no negative impact on human health when handled or added to a floor screed installation. 

Retanol screed is popular for its quick drying times. It can be suitable for foot traffic as early as 24 hours after being laid and achieves 80-90% of full strength within 4-5 days.

Standard Screed

This factory-mixed screed can be tailored to suit your precise requirements, ensuring suitability for a variety of projects and applications. Like all of Marshalls' screeds, our standard screed is set-retarded to give ample time for placing and finishing.
