Compared to previous years, Marshalls had a significant presence at this year’s show, which took place from 24th-28th May.

Our trade stand, which showcased products such as Drystack walling and Symphony Vitrified paving, went down a storm, and even managed to scoop a trade stand award!

Marshalls also donated some Mosolden paving to Welcome to Yorkshire garden, which was designed by Matthew Williamson.

The garden was titled ‘God’s Own County - A Garden for Yorkshire’, and was based upon the iconic Great East stained glass window at York Minster, and showcased the county's wealth of stunning scenery, iconic heritage, deep-rooted industries and skilled tradespeople.

The garden received the BBC/RHS People's Choice Award for the Show Garden winner, as well as a silver medal from the show’s judges.

The garden featured a 5 x 3m panel of stained glass which was made using the same methods employed in 1405. Despite its ancient inspiration, the garden mixed the old and new, with state of the art technology used in the construction of the garden buildings.

Designer, Matthew Wilson, said: “I was thrilled to win the BBC/RHS 'People's Choice' award. I think the garden was so popular in part because of the themes of the garden are a celebration of Yorkshire, which viewers and visitors really seemed to understand.

“Using local stone - Moseldon sand stone - was important not only because it's the same paving that's found outside York Minster but also because of the qualities of the material. It's very hard wearing but extremely beautiful, and its light colour was the perfect foil for the planting, which featured a lot of very colourful perennials.”

Thousands of people attended Chelsea throughout the whole week, with a large amount of interest in the Marshalls stand. A huge thank you to everyone who helped to make it such a success!
