The CILT Awards aim to recognise achievements within the transport, logistics and transport planning industries, and encourage the highest possible standards.

We were selected as a finalist in the ‘safety’ category, which we entered for the fleet safety improvements, and were crowned the winners at the prestigious annual awards ceremony at the Lancaster London Hotel on the 22nd October, beating off stiff competition in our category from National Express Coaches and TNT UK.

The fleet has been transformed of late, and now boasts 360 degree CCTV systems, audible manoeuvring alerts, and improved access for the LGV drivers, along with state of the art cab spec to keep drivers comfortable and alert when travelling long distances. The design has also brought about a significant reduction in accidents, incidents & LTIs.

Regional Logistics and Fleet Manager Guy Ripley said: “The award represents the culmination of several years of very challenging development and implementation. The challenge I set was to create an innovative fleet design that incorporated the very best equipment available, and the vehicle design had to not only meet our own safety related aspirations, but also those of the many blue chip clients we work with.”

He added: “The success of this project was only made possible by working with the best suppliers available and the hard work of both the Marshalls Logistics team that were involved and our supplier partners such as CVL, Ryder, SDC & HIAB cranes, and together we were able to produce a vehicle design that in my opinion is industry leading and has surpassed all of my expectations.”

The event was chaired by Beverley Bell FCILT, President of the CILT, and hosted by television presenter Naga Munchetty, along with HRH The Princess Royal who presented each of the winners with their awards.
