Marshalls is proud to announce the involvement of the Group in Creating Better Cycle Landscapes and its sponsorship of Cycle City Leeds, a two day 'culture changing' conference for all those working to create better cycling cities.

Marshalls will be attending the event at Leeds Town Hall on May 1st and has a stand (33) which will showcase its complete cycling range including cycle parking and shelters, surfaces, lighting, signage and street furniture; helping to create a world-class cycle landscape.

Promoting cycling and sustainable transport in both urban and rural areas in the UK is a priority for the Government in order to tackle health issues and reduce both greenhouse gas emissions and vehicle congestion. The culture of all road users needs to be changed to create a better environment for ourselves and future generations. Marshalls believes the key to making Britain’s roads safer for cyclists is to put cycling at the heart of transport policy and in the minds of vehicle drivers.

The company has invited Niels Hoe, CEO of HOE360 Consulting to speak at the event. The company has extensive experience and knowledge of cycling, mobility and public transport, with a strong understanding of cycling and pedestrian culture. Niels’ work is conducted in Denmark and internationally. He will speak on the application of international good practice to the UK.

Marshalls’ Roger Markham, Business Development Manager for Marshalls Street Furniture and Mark MacIntosh-Watson, Pavement Engineering Manager will also present on day two, outlining the options and benefits of cycle lane surfacing.

The presence of these speakers at the event will help highlight Marshalls’ aims to create cycling infrastructure which will help increase cycle safety in the UK.
