The agreement, effective immediately, secures Marshalls exclusive access to Whitworth Yorkstone for use in the commercial environment.
Whitworth Yorkstone is a blue grey to buff brown sandstone, quarried near Rochdale, UK. The Quarry has extensive reserves of high quality blockstone and this agreement will allow Marshalls to expand the market for this material, by utilising its established UK and international operations.
Andy Robinson, MD of Marshalls Mineral Products division said: “We were delighted when Fairhurst approached us with this proposal. It gives Marshalls an opportunity to expand our offer and to introduce new differentiated products into our portfolio.”
