RHS Chelsea Flower Show principal sponsor Marshalls plc has launched a bespoke newspaper called ‘The Street’. The on line publication has been created to complement its stunning 2009 show garden ‘The Marshalls Living Street’ and to champion Marshalls ‘Campaign for Better Landscapes’.

Launched today, the first edition is on line now at: www.marshalls.co.uk/thestreet

In it, it details the concept behind the Marshalls garden, describing the people who live in the houses and what they want from their space; an introduction to Ian Dexter, Marshalls show garden designer; encourages us to Get Britain Building by following the on line link; announces that Marshalls and a leading National Charity have joined forces to create better landscapes, and of course, there is a gardening column kindly written by The Sun's gardening correspondents Peter Seabrook and Steve & Val Bradley.

Marshalls will now publish five other copies on line, released every Monday morning right up until the week of the Show. The sixth will also be printed and then distributed from their garden at the event.

Marshalls created the Show garden in support of its national ‘Campaign for Better Landscapes’ which calls for both public and private bodies, as well as individuals, to seriously consider the societal and individual benefits of creating ‘better landscapes’ in our towns, cities, public spaces and our private gardens. The campaign urges us all to take positive action by engaging with the social, economic and environmental benefits and to make the purchasing decisions which deliver these benefits.
