Marshalls announces new logistics partnership
We have announced that we are growing our strategic partnership with logistics specialist, Wincanton, to strengthen our delivery services for customers across more of the Marshalls Group.
Wincanton are a leading supply chain partner for many of the UK’s most recognisable brands. This includes being a long-term supplier of logistics services to our Marley roofing division, creating an excellent opportunity for us to extend this successful relationship to also deliver our landscaping products, linear drainage and bricks ranges.
With our customers and partners, we share a commitment to a lower carbon future, and this move ensures that we can continue to deliver our materials in the most sustainable way, now and in the future. In addition to a more sustainable fleet, the partnership also provides us with the opportunity to access more specialist vehicles and digital technology to enhance the way we manage deliveries to our customers.
Simon Bourne, Chief Operating Officer, Marshalls plc, said:
“As our business has grown, so has the volume and complexity of items that we deliver and we’re at a point in our journey where we need to look at the future of this specialist area.
By partnering with Wincanton, we will be taking advantage of their programme to invest in diesel-alternative fuel options, contributing to our sustainability goals. We’re also supporting our drive for continuous improvement for our customers, including improving delivery times, access to more specialist vehicles and consistent delivery tracking.”
We are working closely with Wincanton to ensure a smooth transition; customers should expect business as usual throughout this period; many deliveries will still be made using our branded fleet, and they’ll recognise the same faces driving them too.
Customers with questions regarding this change are asked to get in touch with their local Marshalls sales contact.
