During 2017 and 2018, Marshalls plc raised approximately £180,000 for the Mind charity. This was raised by our colleagues across the UK by holding fundraising events. With everything from clothes sales to auctions to triathlons; the level of engagement was fantastic across all of our sites in the UK.

As an investment in the future, Marshalls also committed to implementing a company-wide Mental Health Programme to support its employees. Every site across the UK now has representatives who have been trained to better manage colleague problems in a successful progressive way. We are keen to share this journey with other firms and spread the message.

Jack Clarke, Group Finance Director of Marshalls stated, “I am very proud of everyone’s achievement over the last couple of years. We have raised a significant amount of money for a fantastic charity that is Mind. Alongside this, we have invested in the long-term welfare of our employees in mental health, an area that was often overlooked. I am humbled by the response of the Marshalls family to this initiative; it has been wonderful and will make a real difference.”

The Mind representatives received the cheque at Marshalls head office in Yorkshire. Anna Murray said, “On behalf of Mind I’d like to thank everyone at Marshalls for supporting the partnership through fundraising and raising awareness of mental health. Their support has, and will, help us to support the 1 in 4 people who experience mental health problems in any given year, funding vital services that allow us to continue to be there for people when they need it most.”
