Marshalls attended the prestigious UK Rail Industry Awards on Thursday 12th February as sponsor of the Environmental and Sustainability award.

The event took place at Battersea Evolution, and saw companies from across the railway sector come together to celebrate their achievements over the past 12 months.

The winner of the Environmental and Sustainability category was Taylor Woodrow, for their integrated hybrid renewable energy system which has been designed for the new Crossrail train.

Paul Curtis, Marshalls’ Regional Trading Manager, presented the award to senior members of Taylor Woodrow’s rail project team.

Paul said: “The evening showcased some great examples of innovation and development within the rail industry. Our involvement and sponsorship of the Environmental and Sustainability award demonstrates our commitment to this important sector, as we continue to develop our commercial offer within the wider rail market.”

This year’s UK Rail Industry Awards saw over 1,100 rail industry leaders attend, and over £30,000 was raised for ChildLine on the night. The prize draw raised a staggering £10,720, with two tickets to the Queen’s upcoming 90th birthday celebrations, donated by Dame Esther Rantzen, raising another £10,000 - which was matched by RTM and UKRIA managing director Roy V Rowlands.
