At Marshalls, the health, safety and wellbeing of our colleagues is essential to the efficient running of our business. Health and Safety is at the forefront of everything we do. The Marshalls leadership team take all health, safety and wellbeing risks seriously, especially when there is a risk to our colleagues or a risk to our customers and the service we provide to them.

The current coronavirus (COVID-19) situation is a concern across the world. We understand that our colleagues and our customers will feel a level of uncertainty while this situation is ongoing. We want to assure our customers and our colleagues that, like all other business and organisations, we are monitoring the situation closely. The actions we are taking include:
  • Preparing to put our robust business continuity plans into place, so that we can do our best to ensure there is no interruption to the service we provide our customers
  • Cancelled all non-essential overseas business travel for all Marshalls colleagues and implemented a business travel approval process
  • Testing of our IT business continuity processes, ensuring we have procedures in place to allow our people to work from home if we need to close any of our offices or ask colleagues to self-isolate
  • Communicating with our supply base to understand their business continuity plans
  • Set up a team of senior leaders to help us to react quickly to the changing situation
  • Monitoring the regular advice and guidance from the World Health Organisation, the UK Government, the Department of Health and Social Care and Public Health England
  • Issuing regular internal communications and manager guidance, including ensuring our colleagues understand their own responsibilities when it comes to personal travel
  • Rolled out a coronavirus people policy so our colleagues know what support is available to them, supported by regularly updated FAQs on a dedicated intranet page
  • Providing support to colleagues with their queries and concerns through our HR team and our dedicated colleague support telephone line and email address.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely, for general information please read our Health and Safety policy statement.
