Marshalls Register Members have enjoyed success this horticultural show season winning awards up and down the country for their show gardens featuring a range of Marshalls products.

The Marshalls Register of Approved Landscape Contractors and Driveway Installers is a national network of independent professional installers strictly vetted and monitored by Marshalls to assess their levels of competence and performance.

Below are some of this year’s winners:

PWP Landscape - Harrogate Show, April - Title: ‘Modo-repose’

Awarded gold and the memorial award for the most innovative design, this garden was a conceptual, contemporary spin on a birch woodland which had an enchanting feel. Using Fairstone Sawn sandstone this was a highly sophisticated example of how Marshalls products can be used to full effect.

Sharp Paving - Holker Show, May - Title: ‘The Wheel Water Garden’

The Wheel Water Garden won gold and narrowly missed out on best in show. The idea was to create a two dimensional design whilst adding enough visual appeal to make the garden interesting from all angles.

To create the circular design a variety of Marshalls products were used including Fairstone Sawn large flags in autumn bronze, Fairstone planks and Cobbletech in Basalt.

Cobbletech provided the tyre effect around the outside of the garden and a stainless steel, monolith water feature set in a sunken pond formed the spokes to the central hub. To add the finishing touches the planting brought the paving to life with blazes of colour in drifts which flowed around the entire garden.

Pat Render Fineacre Landscaping - Harrogate Show, April - Title: ‘Sanctuary Yorkshire’

With a silver medal awarded for their very first visit to Harrogate Show this was a great accomplishment for the team at Fineacre Landscaping.

They worked hard across six days to construct ‘Sanctuary Yorkshire’ with the help of garden designer Mary Elliot who designed and planted the garden. Intricate handmade rose cobbles bordered the pathway and Marshalls Fairstone Sawn sandstone was laid to add a solid shape at the bottom of the rill which, in turn, created a distinctive line through the centre of the garden. The paving and cobbles were pointed using Marshalls Weatherpoint 365.

Actual Landscapes & Angie Turner - RHS Tatton, July - Title: ‘Edible Medley’

A silver medal was awarded to the ‘Edible Medley’ garden designed by award winning garden designer Angie Turner and constructed by Actual Landscapes.

Based on sustainability, in the hope that the planet will stay healthy for future generations to enjoy, this garden portrayed a serious message about the environment with the use of Marshalls ethically sourced Fairstone. The garden also evoked joy with colourful grasses, perennials and quirky edible plants.

The garden was designed using geometric shapes to separate softer planting from the ripe crops. A purple theme ran throughout the garden which was reflected in the choice of planting and vegetables.

Aughton Green Landscapes - RHS Tatton, July - Title: ‘The Water Garden’

The Water Garden was awarded the silver gilt and comprised of waterfalls, streams, a beautiful summer house, an oak swing seat and a patio using Marshalls Fairstone Sawn golden sandstone paving which was kindly donated by Marshalls. A range of plants, tall trees and colourful perennials completed these stunning features making this a garden to remember.
