Last week we updated our website to reflect our approach to sustainability and our three key strategic priorities of Respecting PeopleClimate Action and Made to Last

Each of these strategic priorities helps outline the different aims of our sustainability strategy, so whether it’s reducing our carbon emissions by 50% since 2008, having the Fair Tax Mark since 2015 or being the first company to achieve BRE ELS 6002 for ethical labour sourcing and continuous accreditation for six years – to name but a few – our customers and stakeholders can see what work we've achieved and prioritised across the entirety of our sustainability strategy.

Our approach to sustainability is based on strong foundations, our Code of Conduct and The Marshalls Way of doing the right things, for the right reasons, in the right way. We always make public commitments, we take action, we report honestly and we seek external validation from reputable sources.

Our sustainability strategy is to Create Better Futures for Everyone: Socially, Environmentally and Economically, we do this under the guidance of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and we work towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that are appropriate for our business.

We’ve had a hand in all facets of what it means to be a sustainable business, we’ve been doing this for 20 years and we have the track record to prove it. However, with plenty of things to address and prioritise, we wanted to outline what we aim to achieve as a business now and in the future.

As a business, we consider the long-term impact of every decision we make and recognise that we can Create Better Spaces by putting people, communities and the environment first.
