Our people drive our business and we’re proud to say we pay our colleagues the real Living Wage. We are committed to ensuring equal opportunities for everyone and providing a fair and supportive workplace. To us, this is more than a legal, moral or ethical necessity – it’s the right thing to do.
From our network of Mental Health First Aiders and apprenticeship development programme to our Employee Voice Group and approach to supplier engagement, we support the people who work for Marshalls as well as those working in our supply chains.
Marshalls supports human rights as laid out in the UN’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We work diligently to support and uphold the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. Our approach is to seek out where we might be unintentionally doing harm and work to put this right – but also see where we can make a net positive impact with a focus on safeguarding workers in the UK and abroad.
We’ve been engaged in the elimination of child labour in the Indian sandstone industry since 2005. We made a promise to support and uphold the rights of children through our participation in the UN Global Compact and our commitment to Children’s Rights and Business Principles.
Since then, our focus has widened to encompass other products and jurisdictions. Although the majority of our spend is with UK suppliers, we continue to visit important elements of our international supply chain, tracing back to raw materials wherever possible. Our approach is adapted to the complexities of each industry and region, as we support suppliers on their ethical journeys.
